Golden Dolphin Express

Booking service really messed up. I arrived at the hotel and they could't find my reservation, even though I had it in my cellphone and showed to the attendant. Later on I found out that they had booked my room to another person who had reserved a whole floor for a wedding that would happen the next day. In the end, they managed to put me in a room so I could spend the night. Luckily, I was really going to leave early in the morning.

We arrived at the hotel on Friday, 10/20, around 11pm. Reception only had one employee, and when checking in, some people had to wait more than 10 minutes. Upon arriving at the room, we smelled mold and discovered that there was no water, and at the time of check in, we were not informed. I called reception several times, and they didn't answer. I had to go there to hear that he was alone and that's why he only answers the extension when he can. But I could send a message on Whatsapp and when he could, he would respond. I asked about the water and he said it was the entire hotel, but that the maintenance team was already sorting it out. Luckily we had already taken a shower, as the water only returned at dawn. Breakfast is basic and is served at the hotel next door, on both days there was no water to drink. The gallon was empty and they didn't bother to change it. On the second day, we spent the whole day outside, and when we arrived to take a shower and rest, there was no water again. The water arrived after 1 hour or so, after we arrived. On the third and last day, we woke up to get ready to leave, and guess what... Again without water. The reception claimed that it was already being resolved, but as check out was at 11am we were very upset about this situation. We went to the hotel next door for breakfast, and took the opportunity to ask if there was a lack of water there too. We were approached by those representatives, offering gifts for us to come back. We explained our dissatisfaction to her, and she said it was a problem throughout the city and hesitated to respond. We found the way she spoke strange, and asked at the reception of the other hotel, who confirmed that everything was back to normal. We also asked a guest, and he also confirmed that there was normal water there. The shower is completely blocked and it wets the wall and the shower stall more than the body underneath it. We don't like the parking logistics. To access it, you need to go out through reception, and enter through the car passages through the gate, and there is a door inside the hotel that would facilitate access to the car. The door is locked with a padlock. We didn't use the pool part, but it seemed like a peaceful environment, as we have to pass by the pools to have breakfast. We don't know if it's because the Express hotel is the simplest of the Golden Dolphin chain, and therefore left a lot to be desired, but we're sure that it won't be our destination any time soon.

Very family atmosphere. Overall it's a good place, but a few things put me off a little: 1) my daughter was injured on a water slide and they didn't even ban the ride; 2) there was an elevator that didn't work, which caused a long wait at the place; 3) very expensive buffet with few options; 4) hotel parking is paid and they did not inform you of this in advance.

I've already stayed twice. Variety of pools, which are very clean (in general, they empty the pools and clean them more than once in less than 24 hours). Bars, restaurant, 24-hour reception. The only addendum is that, even in very hot weather, there is only one option for a cold pool (the semi-Olympic one located in the express). The others, pardon the bad expression, are somewhere between catching fire and a free sample of hell (on New Year's Eve, the night, the waterslide pool was dangerously hot. No guest was able to even put their foot in it until around 1:30 in the morning. It was only possible after the rain). People approach guests every single day offering quotas under the fallacy that you, as a guest, are entitled to a free gift. Furthermore, some bar staff and express reception staff are very unfriendly. But overall, it's a very good place. I will come back whenever possible.
